A Big Thank You

CQ would like to say her heartfelt big Thank You to Traffic Police (TP) rider 3283 for the assistance he had rendered early this morning (21 November 2009 @ about 8.00AM) while CQ was waiting for Bigboss to 'rescue' her. CQ's car tyre had punctured along the Police Station's perimeter in Gadong.

After CQ had dropped Kimchi off at PTE Katok, CQ decided to drive home slowly and tuned in to Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. Ten minutes later, rumbling noises were heard and the car seemed to be inbalance on the front. Assuming, it must be a tyre puncture, CQ drove to another 50 meters ahead before making a stop on the side road and putting on the emergency lights on.

It had never occured to think that CQ would have the 'chance' to experience a tyre puncture. After making calls to Bigboss and a friend, CQ waited patiently. There was an urge to flag down one of the passing cars but CQ opted out from doing so. It was quite disheartening though, to know that not even one of the many passing cars would stop to find out or render any assistance needed.

Suddenly out of nowhere, a TP rider pulled up in front of CQ's car. Without any hesitaion, this TP rider asked for the car jack and started to change the tyre. Half an hour later, after Bigboss had arrived at the scene, another TP rider 4499 stopped to render his colleague any extra assistance.

Felt like a VIP, CQ can't get enough to thanked both Traffic Police riders, especially TP 3283, whom CQ believed had just started his morning duty, yet his uniform had already got dirtied. A thoughtful deed by the Public Servants.

Once again, THANK YOU very much to both TP riders 3283 and 4499.

When a foe checks-in

beWare! PG rated =)

Bigboss has always been reminding CQ to check the water-box (ooo CQ tak tau the name lah) before starting our Nissan Xtrail, just in-case the water level has dried up ...yeah knowing CQ is quite ignorant about cars hehehe.

But in this post, CQ would like to remind all drivers to check your hood or cars or whatever motor vehicles you have, before driving off.

Here's a clip of the email plus the photos sent to CQ ...

"A guy driving to work heard a 'pop'. He thought it sounded like a flat tire, though his ride wasn't affected. After pulling over, checking the tires and finding them intact he opened the hood to look at the motor. Before the hood was even all the way open he jumped back in shock and knocked his head on the partially opened hood, unable to believe what his eyes were Seeing! Nobody was going to believe this! ...you sure wouldn't have either! Fortunately, a co worker with a camera recognized him along side the road and stopped to see if he could help. Check out the attachment photos to witness for yourself the source of his amazement. Now, this has to be right up there at the top of the list of unusual but verified 'Reasons I was late for work'!!!! How'd you like to find this under your hood???!!! "

eeewwwwwwwwwwww

Hey! mr. Snake ...you checked-in in the wrong 'motel'.

Reflections

It was simply cool when CQ got to see sunset reflecting thru' the car's side mirror ...

On another time on another day ...

Now, what could possibly had happened to these cars? Lols.

CQ was making a U-turn somewhere in Bengkurong, when these cars ~ with only a third of its full body, sun-tanning on a rooftop ~ caught CQ's eyes as if they were winking at CQ hahahaa...

It's like one Malay saying 'Hidup segan, mati tak mau', literally meaning 'shy to live yet dont want to die' ...huhuhu a funky props for a workshop maybe?

Is this what you call a waiting room?

A few days ago, CQ had to send CQ's baby car for servicing and get it to 'mandi' hehehe to shower the car lah...

Arrived at about 9.15AM and handed over to the staff on duty at about 9.20AM.

Taa daaaa ..the waiting room? Huh? You call this a waiting room?? Waahh looks like the room is waiting for CQ to furnish it decently if not extravagantly!

This is not the first time CQ had to wait in this room! CQ had to wait for almost two and half hours for CQ's car to be ready. Well, CQ wished the room had been equipped with piped-in music or the staff can make the room a little comfy with a corporate video of the company be played or have some brochures /car magazines be available for visitors to read while waiting for their cars.

There's one car dealer in Beribi, where the waiting room has a self-service coffee tray. But then, it all depends on how a company values its customers ..need not be big but at least a token of understanding for those customers who have to wait for long hours ...

Imagine sitting in the room on the black sofa, facing a blank wall with electrical fixtures on the lower bit of the wall, an empty tubular cabinet ..that's about it. No wi-fi ...die lah for those who are so easily bored! There were a few wireless connections in the area but need password lehh ...

So how did CQ pass the time waiting? CQ chatted with a friend on eBuddy network on CQ's handphone :p ..next trip, CQ will definitely bring a picnic basket ..lols!!

hmmmmm ...

CQ does not mind if CQ has to wait for longgg hours, for as long as CQ's car will turn out like this!! huhu ...coated with genuine diamonds!!!

Car washing ain't easy ..

When your car is spotless and looks sharp-ie cool, it is almost impossible to stay out of your car! right?

So what does it takes to wash a car? CQ learns the HARD way huhu - you definitely need the hard-to-have patience, know-how-and-what knowledge like car-shampoo, car-wax and those many what-so-ever must-do and must-not-do.

CQ can hardly find anymore those automated car wash where the car goes through a tunnel washer which uses conveyors to pull the car through a series of cleaning mechanisms. Instead there are many car wash facilities that employs mostly foreign workers to wash cars using their muscles and stamina - yeah that means manually.

It takes about two to three persons to wash a car in about 30 minutes. Most of these car wash facilities offer the basic car wash that include vacuuming and washing and some even do snow wash. CQ hopes their skills to remove dirt and road grime without stripping the wax are reliable eh ... *sigh* and it costs between $6.00 to $10.00.

After all been said, what do you know? CQ's cleaning items are just a pail, old rag and breeze powder ..lols! ohhh and of course water.

This grand old dame is 22 years old. She has had a bad flat battery - kaput! lols ..can't drive her even to the nearest car wash facilities, so CQ and Kimchi had to wash her delicately for two and half hours!! hahaha ...sakit pinggang lah :)) but worth the pain..it's sparkling clean! huhu

still in the mood ...

Notice anything wrong with these two pictures (above & below)??

This morning, I sent my VW Polo for the first servicing and re-programming of the don't-know-what the mechanic was referring to ...must be the computer thing in the car hehehe.

I think this is the ONLY show- room that is still in the mood to celebrate CNY. CNY has long gone months ago yet you can still see lanterns and banners of CNY deco still up hanging nicely here and there.

Upon settling my bills an hour later, I asked the cashier ...

CQ: So all of you are still in the mood of CNY *grinning*

Cashier: huh?? don't know lah. They never ask we all to bring it down ..so we leave it bah ..

I then thought who are the 'they' that the cashier was referring to?? hmmm could be the Bosses?? kwang kwang kwang

It was not so busy because I did not make any appointment for my car's servicing ..just walked in and tried my luck. I can see most of the staff were just laxing around, talking or telling stories among themselves but none has the initiative to act on something useful like removing the decors.

Must you wait for the BOSS to instruct? Need orders is it? hmmm your year end appraisal will be lessened by 40% haaaa... now that I mentioned about appraisal, I was wondering if incomplete appraisal by the boss, can a staff still be entitled to his/her year end bonus???

CQ saw this colourful bus-stop at the Mail Processing Centre

Beware

And so we have heard about our families, friends and other people who had experienced car theft or car-jacking or being robbed when they were in the neighbouring countries. People have been warned to be more careful, alert and attentive to any unfamiliar surrounding.

Just to share with you, readers, that there is a new tactic that may be used or being used by these potential robbers to stop you while driving ...either to rob, slash or hurt you in any ways they can think of.

An unfortunate incident happened to a couple last December. They were driving along the highway after attending a dinner function around 11pm. Suddenly a motorbike overtook them and the pillion rider threw two eggs onto their car's windscreen. In his reflex action, he turned on his windscreen wiper and the whole screen surface became very blur. Immediately he slowed down his car and stopped along the emergency lane. The man got out of his car and was trying to wipe clean the windscreen while his wife is seated inside the car.

All of a sudden a Proton Saga stopped behind their car and three guys came running towards him with Samurai swords and screaming at him to surrender his car and wallet. Fortunately the man, who is attached to the Police Division managed to pull his gun out and fired two warning shots into the air. That shocked the three guys. They immediately ran back to their car and drove off at high speed. The man then called the Police and found out that the robbers-to-be had used false plate number.

Apparently, this tactic has been used very often in the latest strings of road side robberies to those drivers driving alone or with small children or elderly passengers. If you ever encounter such a situation, be sure:

1. Not to 'on' your wiper.
2. Continue driving to the nearest Police Station, petrol station or shops
3. OR another nearby bright place with crowds to attract attention.
4. Lock your doors if you are alone.

Please spread or share this info...You could save lives.
