Ants attack!!

"Also a big thank you to all bloggers and recipe contributors that made the event a success and everyone for the continuous support on this project"

- an excerpt from 'My Recipe Book'.

It was indeed a noble project by a group of bloggers and individuals - initiated by an idea that came out of nowhere. CQ could not have done that alone and was extremely elated to be part of this awesome project to support charity.

But sadly, some PEOPLE took the whole thing into their self-interest acts. Yes, CQ have read some tasteless comments made about the end product of the recipe book project on a blog. What or how would that fellow or fellows want to be thanked - for their contributions? Do these contributors want a red carpet 'Thank You' or do they have other agendas up their sleeves?

Ahhhh ... Yes! CQ believed he/she or they are dissatisfied contributors. Wanting bigger portions of the cake! It was a kind gesture that the recipe book project committee had invited all bloggers and non-bloggers to participate or contribute any of their favorite recipes to be shared, made into a book, sell to the public and ALL sale proceeds will be donated to the Brunei Special Olympics Team!

But unfortunately there are few aNts trying to squeeze their way up to the front upper seats of the cinema ...without even reliasing that they are stampede-ing on themselves!! Wake up! Look at yourselves in the mirror before writing those tasteless comments.

For those who have not purchase the recipe book, you may buy them at Shop @ Sarah in Q-lap, while stocks last. It costs only B$10.00 - do buy in the name of charity.

Carpark Full

Finding a parking space can at times be a dreadful experience - especially at the one basement in Gadong.

Not once but a couple of times - when it comes to weekends or public holidays or if there is any event that could catch the attention of people to flock to that area - CQ could not find a parking space after PAYING $2 per-entry fee at the entrance booth.

At times during peak season period and knowing that the car park basement will be full, CQ will always ask Mr. Entrance-Booth-Man if he is sure there are still parking spaces in the basement .. he will always reply 'ada, ada lagi..' but yet you will witness a scenario of cars roaming around the basement looking for vacant spaces ..some can even park suka-suka at odd angle space.

So what happens when one can-Not find a parking space and has to exit? Do you get a refund of the $2 fee? It did NOT say 'non-refundable' on the small paper-ticket if there is no more parking space... so can refund lah? If not, then CQ has been 'robbed' ...

There is one multi-storey parking lot that has caught CQ's attention. It is well organized and so easy for one to locate any vacant parking space.

Those red lights lined above the cars indicate that each parking spaces are not available. The light will turn green if it is vacant. Cool =)

Can we have parking lots like this? We pay parking or entrance fees, therefore we deserve good and reliable management of the parking lots ..and of course with drivers that understand parking lots ethics!

Still need supervision or training?

Just hours ago, CQ did some marketing at the new supermarket in Rimba area. After getting all that were needed, CQ queued to pay for all the purchases at one of the paying counters.

A foreign male staff assisted the cashier to put in all the items CQ bought into plastic bags. This male staff was obviously not being trained or ignorant or is a non-supermarket section staff. CQ saw him putting food stuff (bread) together with detergents item in the same plastic bag! CQ immediately told him off and to put the bread in a separate plastic bag, but being stubborn as an OX, instead he put the bread together with other non-foodstuff item!

Avoiding to make a scene, CQ walked away grumbling $#^%*(&&(**^% with eyes roaming on CQ. This is not the first experience CQ encountered. To some, maybe it is just a small matter. But CQ believes in customers' satisfaction. Items bought by customers should be handled or treated with respect too. Customers pay for those items so do not treat those items bought as no-big-deal or scraps.

When CQ reached home, this is what CQ found ...packets of chicken were stuffed together with electrical appliances in the same plastic bag??!!

Questions raced through CQ's mind. Have these staff been or given training or briefed as to the proper handling of purchased items ...that is to group items accordingly?? You packed foodstuffs with foodstuffs, detergents with detergents related items and so on. You don't mix foodsstuff with electrical appliances or non-foodstuff items. It is common sense!

Another question - this male staff was dressed in the company's t-shirt, three quarter pants and was wearing a cap and sandals as his footwear. Is that the appropriate attire while on duty??

Grooming is like 30% pass for most of the staff. Haiyaaahhhh ...

FouL !!!

CQ hopes that the relevant authorities will do something about it soon ...yeah REAL soon!

It had been a week that CQ sent Bigboss to work in Sungai Akar. As if nobody knows that there's a stinking lot somewhere near in this area huhu ...and moreover it had been raining too the nights before.

So early this morning, CQ was so-like-want-to-puke-her-intestines-out! macam nak muntah darah eh!!

The STENCH from the nearby large dumping site was so UNBEARABLE! People are walking from their cars to the main building with their fingers pinching their noses to avoid breathing in the foul smell ...then how to breathe eh ...through the mouths?? Lagi tia ...kan muntah!!

Taking time to settle down in the driver's seat, CQ sprayed ample doses of floral-scented parfume and on the air-con to full blast ...

When it rains after a long season of hot weather, this dumping area will release methane (a product of the decomposition of organic matter) - do correct CQ if it's wrong =) ...and carbon monoxide will airborne into the atmosphere ...and travels with the wind as far as the foul smell will thinned out ...oKay Science class is over!

. . . s i g h . . . CQ needs fresh AIR!

Is this what you call a waiting room?

A few days ago, CQ had to send CQ's baby car for servicing and get it to 'mandi' hehehe to shower the car lah...

Arrived at about 9.15AM and handed over to the staff on duty at about 9.20AM.

Taa daaaa ..the waiting room? Huh? You call this a waiting room?? Waahh looks like the room is waiting for CQ to furnish it decently if not extravagantly!

This is not the first time CQ had to wait in this room! CQ had to wait for almost two and half hours for CQ's car to be ready. Well, CQ wished the room had been equipped with piped-in music or the staff can make the room a little comfy with a corporate video of the company be played or have some brochures /car magazines be available for visitors to read while waiting for their cars.

There's one car dealer in Beribi, where the waiting room has a self-service coffee tray. But then, it all depends on how a company values its customers ..need not be big but at least a token of understanding for those customers who have to wait for long hours ...

Imagine sitting in the room on the black sofa, facing a blank wall with electrical fixtures on the lower bit of the wall, an empty tubular cabinet ..that's about it. No wi-fi ...die lah for those who are so easily bored! There were a few wireless connections in the area but need password lehh ...

So how did CQ pass the time waiting? CQ chatted with a friend on eBuddy network on CQ's handphone :p ..next trip, CQ will definitely bring a picnic basket ..lols!!

hmmmmm ...

CQ does not mind if CQ has to wait for longgg hours, for as long as CQ's car will turn out like this!! huhu ...coated with genuine diamonds!!!

A night out

Last night CQ watched the fourth film in the Indiana Jones series, with Bigboss and Kimchi.

Set in 1957, this action-packed comedy adventure flick has a more older and wiser Indy (Harrison Ford) fighting the Soviet Union agents led by Spalko played by Cate Blanchett.

Before the show starts at 9.30pm, we had a Chinese dinner at one of the supposed-ly high profile restaurant. We ordered hot Szechuan soup, assorted greens sauteed with Szechuan vege, deep-fried chicken in orange sauce and seabass cooked in an asam-like sauce.

Unfortunately, the fish served was NOT fresh! It was so rubbery!! That definitely dampened our dinner spirits! urrggghhhh ..oh yes!! CQ made a complain to the Exec Chef about the fish. It was such a dissapointment because that place was once named a 'leading' ... *sigh* CQ will stop bla bal bla unnecessarily now o_O

p.s. CQ is not posting the food pictures ..sakit hati whaaa
