H.O.G. Brunei Chapter

If you have a rumbling and thundering appetite for motorcycles - namely Harley Davidson, joined CQ for an exclusive insights on the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) Brunei Chapter.

The H.O.G. Brunei Chapter will be joining the 5th Malaysia National H.O.G. Rally 2008 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The event starts from 28th May till 3rd June 2008.

The Rally is organised by the Harley Motorcycles Owners Club Malaysia Chapter. Harley Owners from Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, East and West Malaysia, Australia and United States will be attending this Rally.

According to Ladyrider, the riders will ride together and everything has been arranged by the Organiser.

Yesterday morning, CQ had the privileged to meet the Brunei Harley riders when they began their journey from the premises of Harley Davisdson Brunei Chapter in Lambak Kiri.

Errr guys - this is not a toothpaste adverts huhu ... actually CQ had asked Pg Shaminan Pg Salleh - Deputy Director of H.O.G. Brunei Chapter, to take a snap-click of CQ and Bruce ...but instead he was too excited sebakul that he went on straight standing beside Bruce and do his super-mega-watt smile ...urggghhh ... Pg Shaminan - U faham inda apa CQ cakap?? lols - yeah finally CQ did get to pose with Bruce =)

CQ had a rare chance to chat with Bruce Motta. He is the International Manager of Harley Owners Group - based in Wisconsin, Milwaukee - USA. This is his third visit to Brunei. He will visit his friends and collegues in Brunei whenever he makes his trip to this region.

According to Bruce, riding a motobike is like riding a bicycle. You just have to know the techniques and how to balance on the bike... and it is pretty awesome when the bike is a Harley Davidson!

Another Harley Davidson enthusiast ..

Line-up of Harley Davidson motorbikes ...

ohhh CQ saw these cute vintage cars too ..

When you own a Harley Davidson
..you are part of motorcycle history!

Team members were briefed on the final itinerary

... and a 'doa' was recited by Mohammad Roziman,

" It starts somewhere with a skull. " Ohh yes! CQ found a skull alright huhu on one of the HD motorbike ..cool :)

CQ saw a lucky charm! on the right handlebar

This must be the 'head' where the face, ears, nose and mouth are in one place - the dashboard ..huhu

hmmm the black chest? you have to fill up petrol here to get this beast going vroom vroom ..

the gleaming chrome heart rumbles away with thunder-breathing pulse woooo ..

This is like a saddle bag yeah ..a.k.a. the stomach ..lols - you can keep all your necessities like food, amenities or anything that you want to bring with you on a long journey on the highway ..

woooo the Brunei Press guy is there too :)

Colours of Harley Davidson

This chili red bike is in workshop - as you can see it has no cushion seat, you will sore your butt if sitting on the metal for too long ... ouucchhh

" 105 years ago, a Harley and three Davidsons rolled their first motorcycle out of a tiny wooden shed in Milwaukee. With it they gave birth to an appetite for forward motion that's never yet been satisfied. "

candle light-up

Blackout hit again in some Rimba areas at about 7.30pm this evening, just minutes after strong winds slammed right across the country with rainDROPS pouring heavily ...

It was so hot and there was nothing that CQ could possibly do but to stare at the lit scented- candles and CQ snap-click a few shots in the dark hehe ...are you afraid of the dark??

Soon boredom strikes and CQ decided to go for a drive with Kimchi ...

CQ likes to keep candles of different sizes :)

CQ saw 3 lost ghost-riders somewhere out there ...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lately, CQ saw many of these bright and vibrant yellow wild flowers growing scatttered-ly along luscious greens ..creeping either horizontally or vertically.

Are these Simpur flowers?? The actual national flower looks like this ...anyway, it's really beautiful and lovely seeing these flowers growing freely as nature's wish ...here and there to beautify the suburban areas or on boring greens :D

Mat Rempit lost?

hmmm do you think this Mat Rempit is lost, gone senile or practising for his motocross competition? lols ..Anyway, it is quite rare to see any Brunei 'made' Mat Rempits on the road.

But a few weeks back, I saw a rider (wouldn't label him a Mat Rempit) was zig-zagging his Kawasaki before making a corner along the exit towards Tungku Highway...it is a dangerous act and his haphazard manner could be fatal to him and other road users.

What is Mat Rempit? The word 'Rempit' is a combination of 'ramp it' ...meaning ramp the throttle. So when you say the two words quickly...it sounds 'rempit'. 'Mat' is a slang term in Malay, refering to a male rider/individual ...if a female, it is referred as 'Minah'. This is common in Malaysia. In Singapore, the rider is usually referred to as 'Mat Motor'. If there is any in Brunei...it could be called "Awang Rempit'? hmmm...

A Mat Rempit is usually involved in illegal street racing or even linked to gangsterism and anti-social activities.

Monsters on the loose...

What monster beauties they are... This is a Tomahawk motorbike...a 8200cc Monster of a Bike and it's like riding a two-wheeled Train Engine. These bikes boast a maximum engine speed of 6000 rpm (errr no idea what's that).

Unfortunately, these motorcycles cannot be licensed, therefore they cannot be legally driven on public roads. These bikes are meant only as rolling sculptures. It is said to cost up to $555,000 each! Woweeeee.....

The Tomahawk is a Viper V-10 based motorcycle, a 500 horsepower engine with four wheels beneath it.

Now ...this is what i call monster bikes on the loose.
