Ageing at different times ~ part I

There are many parts of our body that will age at different times. We have accepted that getting older is inevitable, therefore, it is one's reponsibility to takecare and monitor one's daily food intake to ensure healthy growth of our body organs.

Acording to leading clinicians, it has been revealed the exact age when different body parts start to decline and lose their battle against time. The most alarming is being the brain and lungs.

Weighing about 1.5kgs, the human brain has enormous cerebral hemisphere. These are involved in thoughts and memory; some parts respond to signals from the sense organs to allow sight, hearing, feeling, speech and movement.

Brain starts to age at 20 years of age. As we get older, the number of nerve cells - or neurons - in the brain decrease. We start with around 100 billion but in our 20's this number starts to decline. By the time we are into 40's, we could be losing up to 10,000 per day, affecting memory, co-ordination and brain function.

Lungs will start ageing in the 20's. The lung capacity slowly starts to decrease from the age of 20 and by the age of 40, some people are already experiencing breathlessness. This is partly because the muscles and the rib cage which control breathing has stiffened up. hmmmm
