Unique as it is

Belutak is a unique food which is the Brunei version of salami. It is also served as one of the side dishes for an Ambuyat meal set.

One look at this Belutak, you can go 'eewwwww' ..lols. It looks like a coiled up snake yeah ...

It contains meat by-products such as fat, cartilage and tendons cut into small pieces, marinated with spicy sauce and packed into cow's intestines. It is then dried in the sun.

Surprisingly, CQ found out that not many locals know what Belutak is! CQ thought it is supposed to be a native food here ...hmmm

A simple dish is to fry slices of garlic, big onions and chilli padi (bird's eye chilli). Then you add the Belutak, 2 tablespoons of sweet black sauce, a little water and stir fry till cook. CQ assures it is yummmy and you will not regret. Try it!

Recently, CQ tried making kebab Belutak ...taa daaaa - they went missing within minutes huhu!
