Guess ...who's hand is that belek-belek (browsing) the menu card?? hehehe :D
Okay.. this is set 1 special ambuyat ?
hmmm don't know what was the special about :p
Ambuyat is a local dish made from sago flour. You mix the sago flour with hot water to make ambuyat. It is said that when making ambuyat, one must not be in an angry mood ...hmm whether it is a myth or not, ambuyat is accompanied with varieties of condiments.
From set 1 (above picture) you can see there's asam rebus, a platter of ulam with sambal belachan, fried kangkong, pais daging, belutak, cacah binjai and of course a bowl of ambuyat...
Set 2 consists of pais daging, belutak, ikan asam rebus, a platter of ulam, cacah binjai and a bowl of ambuyat.
How do you eat ambuyat? You use 'candas' - it's a siamese-like chopstick to scoop and twist the ambuyat and then you dip with the condiments ...yeah I know it sounds so hard hehehe.
My first taste with ambuyat was in 1989 when I tried eating it by swallowing with water! hahaha ...at that time I thought I was swallowing chewing-gum! :p but now I am a semi-pro ambuyat eater.
kira nada kasi chance ..sure licin hehehe
(caya - anak Arab & Cina pandai makan ambuyat??)
Mr. Sam is soooooo curious with BinKhalid's digicam
