Cooking has been my passion. Most of my recipes are hands down from relatives and friends. I love those 'old folks' type of recipes where they just estimate and made up of the ingredients. And as you go along, you tend to modify them...lols. Here are some of my favorites that i would love to share...hope you enjoy them!
Adobo Craze
Ingredients:
1 whole chix ~ cut into bite size & cleaned
6 garlic ~ chopped
1 big onion ~ cut into slices
12 limau kasturi ~ take the juice
kicap manis (sweet black sauce) ~ 5tbsp (or more)
Method:
Heat up the kuali (wok) or periuk (pot), put cooking oil, NOT baby oil. Tumis (saute) the garlic, followed by the onion till fragrant. Add the limau juice and stir. Add the chix and stir well. 3 mins later add the kicap ah and you gaul hingga rata (mix well) ok. Do not add water. The dish shud end in sizzling style but if you want some sauce, dont cook till dry ah..ok! You will not regret trying.
Wok Chix
Ingredients:
1 whole chix ~ cut into bite size, cleaned and mix with 2tbsp of curry powder
1 big onion ~ sliced
3 garlic ~ chopped
1" ginger ~ sliced
1 pc lemon grass ~ knocked?
4tbsps tomato sauce
4tbsps sweet black sauce
Method:
Heat up wok with some cooking oil. Fry in the garlic, ginger, lemon grass & onion till fragrant. Add the marinated chix and stir fry well. 5 mins later add the sauces and stir well. Do not add water....fry till chix is cooked...yummmmmyy
Peppered Tofu
Ingredients:
6 egg tofu
2 garlic
1 big onion ~ sliced or quarted
lemon grass ~ take the inner core of the tail
black peppercorns ~ pounded
2 tomatoes ~ sliced or quarted
soy sauce
Method:
Pound garlic and lemon grass 2gether finely. Put in a bowl; add soy sauce and black peppercorns. Mix well and marinate tofu well. Then fry till golden brown. Put on plate and granish with onion and tomatoes. Then u eat ok!
